Glastonbury Obituary: Barbara Kancler, 85

Barbara (Gondek) Kancler, 85, died peacefully June 12, 2018 after a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 66 years, Daniel Kancler, her sons Edward (Pamela) Kancler, Thomas (Susan) Kancler and Bruce Kancler, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, her sister Jane Perras, as well as many dear friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Julia Gondek and her sister, Geraldine DePersia.

Barbara was a lifelong resident of Glastonbury. She was a homemaker who was devoted to her family and friends. She also worked for several local doctors’ offices.

Barbara is remembered for her kindness, sense of humor, sewing talent and as an avid cook/baker. She enjoyed gardening and sewing her own clothes.

The family wishes to thank all of the caring staff at Brookdale-Buckingham for their comfort, compassion and friendship.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 10:00 am at St Augustine Church, 55 Hopewell Road, South Glastonbury. Family and friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home 725 Hebron Ave, Glastonbury on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 from 4-6pm.
