Glastonbury Obituary: Elizabeth Archer, 92

Elizabeth Winifred Saretzki (Lib) Archer, 92 passed away peacefully on December 15, 2016 at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born on June 7, 1924 in Putnam, and was the daughter of the late William Saretzki and Winifred Casey Saretzki.

Lib was the widow of Harold Burns Archer of Glastonbury and is survived by daughter Katherine Ann Archer of South Kingston, RI; son William Burns Archer and his wife Marian of Bethel Park, PA; and grandchildren Maureen Archer, David Archer, and Steven Archer. She was predeceased by her sisters Miriam Watkins of Birmingham, MI and Constance Walker of Pittsford, NY.

Lib was a graduate of Willimantic College (now Eastern Connecticut State University) and taught elementary school in Manchester. Her gifts of a wonderful sense of humor, devotion to her late husband Harold, caring for others, and commitment to her friends, will serve as reminders of her wonderful spirit. Lib enjoyed doing for others including having volunteered for 1500 hours at Hartford Hospital, playing golf and bowling, and playing bridge.

A private family service will be held at the Upper Ten Mile Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Prosperity, PA where her husband was laid to rest at a date to be determined.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that gifts in Lib’s memory be made to Eastern Connecticut State University.
