
Marie J. (Annis) Pelton, 80, of South Windsor, beloved wife of the late Bayard Oliver Pelton Jr., died peacefully surrounded by her loving family at home on Thursday, April 27, 2017
She was born on December 29, 1936 in New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of the late Irving and Ruth (Young) Annis. She grew up in Glastonbury and graduated from Glastonbury High School. Marie moved to South Windsor 43 years ago. She was employed at Electrocal as the office manager for 39 years.
She was an active member of the First Congregational Church in South Windsor, where she served on numerous boards and committees throughout the years. Marie was also a member of the South Windsor Historical Society as well as the Wednesday Afternoon Club.

She is survived by her sons Bayard O. Pelton III and his wife Felicia of South Windsor, Robert I. Pelton of South Windsor; her grandchildren Bayard O. Pelton IV and Olivia Pelton both of South Windsor; her sisters-in-law, Barbara Annis of Hawaii, Doris Burgdorf and her husband Jack of South Windsor, Janet Clark and her husband Charlie of Granby, and Elsie Woolam of South Windsor, whom her family would like to thank for her compassionate care. She was predeceased by her brothers Gary Annis and George Annis.
Marie's family will receive friends on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 3 – 6 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2017, 1 p.m., at the First Congregational Church, 993 Main Street, South Windsor. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery in South Windsor.
