Glastonbury Obituary: Mildred Plank, 96

Mildred E. Plank, 96, of Manchester formerly of Glastonbury, wife of the late Burkley John Plank, passed away Monday, November 28, 2016 at Manchester Manor.

Mildred was born February 12, 1920 in Somerville, MA. daughter of the late Peter and Hazel (Gordon) Luurtsema. She was raised in Manchester before moving to Glastonbury where she lived most of her life. Mildred was a former employee at the Glastonbury Citizen Newspaper and a former member of Buckingham Congregational Church Glastonbury.

Mildred is survived by her loving family, daughters, Marsha Pinney and her husband, Ronald,Sr. and Kathleen Hartley, both of Manchester, sons, Gary R. Plank and his wife, Debra of Manchester and Jeffrey Plank of Stafford Springs, eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, two sisters, Doris Bunce and Gainor Trudeau, both of Manchester and several nieces, nephews and their families.

The family would like to thank the nurses at Manchester Manor for their compassionate care given to Mildred.

Memorial services will be Friday December 16, 2016 at 11 am at Holmes Funeral Home 400 Main St. Manchester with inurnment to follow in Neipsic Cemetery, Glastonbury. Memorial calling hours will be Friday, Dec. 16, prior to the service from 10-11 am at the funeral home.
