
Muriel Lopez, of Glastonbury, passed away on September 10, 2016.
She was born in Providence, RI on November 13, 1929.
Muriel was predeceased by her loving husband, Edward J. Lopez in 2010.

Muriel and Ed met in Providence, RI in their youth, after Ed’s return from the Coast Guard. They moved to Glastonbury, where they raised three children, and lived the rest of their lives. Together they started ELM Construction Company, a custom home business, then Sports World, a recreation vehicle business.
Muriel attended college late in life, received her degree in teaching. She taught at Synergy High School in East Hartford for many years. She prided herself in helping students find employment. Muriel always enjoyed reading great books and spending summers in Rhode Island. Her love of music was always a big part of her life.

Muriel leaves three children, James Lopez of Coventry, Laurie Lopez of Manchester and Linda Roth of New Hartford. She is also survived by a daughter in law, Nancy Lopez, a son in law Douglas Roth, six grandchildren and one great grandson.
A calling hour will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2016 from 10am to 11am at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury, followed by a procession to Holy Cross Cemetery, Glastonbury for a graveside service at 11:30am.
