Glastonbury Obituary: Peter Arnold, 71

Condolences to his family and friends.

Peter T. Arnold, 71, of Glastonbury, beloved husband of Anne-Marie (Maier) Arnold, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, September 13, 2017.

Born in Hartford to the late Harold and Marion (Wiggins) Arnold, he recently moved to Glastonbury after living in Southington, Windsor and South Windsor. Peter was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Windsor where he served on the church council. He was also a Past Master in Washington Lodge #70 in Windsor and Hartford/ Evergreen Lodge #88 in South Windsor, a member of Temple Chapter #53 O.E.S., National Camping Travelers and a charter member of the South Windsor Ambulance Corps.

Peter spent his career working for several companies, most notably Induplate, Combustion Engineering and Coast to Coast Express. Peter enjoyed camping, traveling and NHRA drag racing, but his true passion was his family who will miss him dearly.

Besides his wife Anne-Marie of Glastonbury, he is survived by his daughter, Grace Rettburg and her husband Wayne of Manchester, and Kelly Mattesen and her husband Gregory of Portland; his sisters, Judith Arnold and Katherine Moody; and his grandchildren, Cortland Rettburg, Kayla Rettburg and Amelia Mattesen.

A memorial service will be held at 1PM Tuesday, September 19 at the Christ the King Lutheran Church, 465 Park Ave Windsor. His family will receive friends on Monday September 18 from 4PM to 7PM at the Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave Windsor, with Masonic service at 6:30 PM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
