
Ronald Downs Whinnem, 73, of West Hartford, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016.
Born in Hartford on December 10, 1942 and raised in Glastonbury attending Glastonbury High School. He was the son of the late Alexander and Lillian Whinnem and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as a self-employed contractor in the Hartford area his whole life.
A loving father and grandfather, Ron will be dearly missed by five children, Kimberly Whinnem, Michele Whinnem, Letitia Hedstrom and husband Brian Hedstrom, Jaime Willey and husband Stephen Willey, his son Ron Whinnem and 7 adored grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Knickerbocker and husband Robert Knickerbocker, and sister, Deborah Buxton and husband Brian Buxton along with extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be Friday (November 4) at 11:00 a.m. in the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury. Burial with military honors will follow in Green Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday morning from 9:00am to 11:00am.
