Glastonbury Paving Begins On Five Roads; Water Main Work Delays Some Final Surfaces

Parts of three roads will receive only a first pavement layer until MDC completes a planned water main installation in 2027.

Glastonbury has begun its final paving work of 2026 on five roads, but portions of three will wait until 2027 for their finished surface, according to the town. The work covers Stonepost Road, Leigh Gate Road, Heather Glen Road, Steep Hollow Road and Ashley Court.

In its Wednesday, Nov. 4, update, the town outlined three to four weeks of pavement reclamation, grading and paving. Once paving is complete, curbing and driveway aprons will be installed and the curb backfilled. Seeding of disturbed areas will follow in spring 2027.

According to the town, MDC plans to install a new water main in the Hopewell Road area during winter and spring 2027. That project overlaps portions of Stonepost Road, Leigh Gate Road and Heather Glen Road. Those sections will receive only their first pavement layer during the current work to avoid cutting into a newly finished surface.
