Glastonbury Police Bust Suspected Mail Thief
The suspect faces dozens of charges that he stole area residents' identities, created fake checks and then cashed them.

Glastonbury Police have charged a Manchester resident with dozens of charges accusing him of swiping checks from residents’ mailboxes and then creating and cashing fake checks by using the victims’ names and account numbers, police said on Friday.
Jeffrey Richloff, 51, of 217 Autumn St., was arrested April 10 on warrants and charged with dozens of counts of identity theft, forgery and larceny, according to The Courant and the Connecticut Judicial Branch website.
Richloff is accused of stealing mail that people had put out for delivery in the early morning, according to The Courant.

Richloff is facing similar allegations in Manchester, Bloomfield, West Hartford, Vernon, Farmington, Windsor, East Hartford and Hartford, according to the Connecticut Judicial Branch website.

Richloff is being held on a total of $177,500 bond on all of the charges, according to the website.

- Glastonbury Police on April 10: first-degree forgery; 30 counts of second-degree forgery; third-degree larceny; 19 counts of fifth-degree larceny; 10 counts of sixth-degree larceny.
- Glastonbury Police on April 10: third-degree ID theft; seven counts of second-degree forgery; one count fifth-degree larceny; three counts sixth-degree larceny; one count each of conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny, criminal attempt at fifth-degree larceny and criminal attempt at sixth-degree larceny.
- Glastonbury Police on April 10: second-degree ID theft; six counts of second-degree forgery; two counts fifth-degree larceny; three counts sixth-degree larceny; criminal attempt at fifth-degree larceny.
- Glastonbury Police on April 10: third-degree ID theft, second-degree forgery and third-degree larceny.
- Glastonbury Police on April 10: third-degree ID theft; four counts of second-degree forgery; three counts of sixth-degree larceny, criminal attempt at sixth-degree larceny.
