Glastonbury Police Named in Federal Lawsuit
A Glastonbury woman has filed a federal lawsuit against the town's police department claiming it violated her rights in a 2012 incident.

A federal lawsuit has been filed against the Glastonbury Police Department and a regional drug task force by a Glastonbury woman and her family who claim police illegally searched her home and used excessive force during an underage drinking investigation two years ago.
According to a report in The Courant, Christine Conroy and her two adult children, Martin and Lauren Conroy, claim that “police violated their rights by illegally searching their home, using excessive force and depriving them of liberty on false charges.” In addition to the Glastonbury Police Department, the lawsuit also names members of the Ast Central Narcotics Task Force that is comprised of officers of the Manchester, South Windsor and Vernon police departments, according to the report.
The Conroys claim the August 2012 incidents caused humiliation and emotional distress and that the police response to their home on Broad Moor, Minnechaug Golf Course was unnecessary.
