Glastonbury Police Officer Dies Unexpectedly

A member of the Patrol Division, who also served for 20 years in the Hartford Police Department, died suddenly.

GLASTONBURY, CT — The Glastonbury Police Department announced that an officer died suddenly. Officer Francis Perrone served with the department since 2013.

At the the time of his passing he was assigned to the Patrol Division.

Perrone also served the Hartford Police Department for over twenty years. He retired from Hartford holding the rank of sergeant. He was very involved in the tactical team, firearms training, and community policing, according to a Facebook post from Glastonbury police.

"Officer Perrone had passion for Law Enforcement and was extremely proud to serve the communities of Hartford and Glastonbury," the post reads. "He had a keen sense of humor and was approachable by all who encountered him.

"Officer Perrone enjoyed the interaction with the community and treated his brother and sister officers as if they were his family. He made an impression on all officers in which he worked, but had a more impactful comradery and established meaningful, lifelong friendships, with the newly hired officers whom he took a great level of pride in mentoring and training. He was never short on words and was always willing to help a fellow officer in need.

"Officer Perrone was married with two children, who idolized him as their father.

"Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time."
