Glastonbury Residents Selected for Posts Serving the Leadership Greater Hartford
Thomas Choate and Quinten Smallwood assume leadership roles on the Board of Leadership Greater Hartford
Leadership Greater Hartford (LGH) has named Glastonbury resident Thomas Choate to its Board of Directors.
Choate has served as the Chief Growth Officer for UnitedHealth Group’s employer and individual business since January 2012. In this role, he is responsible for national sales strategy and operations across the lines of business and for all distribution relationships, including brokers, consultants, PEOs and direct marketing. He has held various positions in the underwriting organization in the 18 years he has worked for UnitedHealth Group. When he joined the company in 1998, he was selected to participate in the President’s Leadership Development Program. Previously, Tom held underwriting positions with HealthNet and Cigna Healthcare. Tom received his BS from the University of Connecticut and has completed the Wharton Executive Education Program. He lives in Glastonbury, CT with his wife and three children.
Leadership Greater Hartford also has elected board member Quinten Smallwood of Glastonbury to its Executive Committee.

Smallwood, who also is board treasurer, is an Assistant Research Analyst for Hartford Investment Management (HIMCO). Quinten possesses the drive and determination that breeds excellence. He is a former Senior Financial Analyst at Travelers and participated in their Financial Management Leadership Development Program. He is a Certified Financial Analyst charterholder and received his BS in Finance and Economics from the University of Connecticut School of Business.
Leadership Greater Hartford is a comprehensive nonprofit community leadership organization that provides leadership training to individuals ranging from high school students to retirees, with community service projects featured in most programs. These projects and the program graduates continue to have lasting impact in the Hartford region.
