Glastonbury School Hosting Student Chess Tourney

A regional student chess tourney is slated for a Glastonbury School.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Student chess enthusiasts are invited to compete in the Annual Scholastic Chess Tournament on Saturday, April 28, at Glastonbury-East Hartford Magnet School, 95 Oak Street, Glastonbury.

Spectators are welcome.

The event is slated for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is open to students of all skill levels in kindergarten through Grade 12 who attend GEHMS, other Capitol Region Education Council magnet schools, Glastonbury Public Schools, and schools in surrounding towns.

Students will compete for trophies and medals in this Swiss system format tournament, where students play within their age groups and experience levels.

Lunch will be provided for the players and available for purchase by spectators. The $25 entry fee is due by Friday, April 20. Registration the day of the event is $50.
