Glastonbury Seeking 2 Residents For Architectural And Site Design Review Committee
The Glastonbury Town Council is seeking a planner or urban designer and a resident with art or historic preservation experience.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Glastonbury is seeking residents to fill two openings on the Architectural and Site Design Review Committee, according to a notice posted by the town May 8. The Glastonbury Town Council is soliciting applications from qualified residents for the volunteer positions.
The committee is responsible for implementing design guidelines adopted by the council for developments in the town's four village districts. It also provides advisory recommendations on the design of multi-family, commercial, office and industrial projects elsewhere in Glastonbury, according to the notice. The town said the Design Guidelines are available online.
According to the posting, the committee consists of at least two architects, one landscape architect, and one professional planner or urban designer. Of the two current vacancies, one is to be filled by a planner or urban designer. The other is for an individual with background, experience and education in art, historic preservation, or similar areas specifically related to the role of the committee as required by state law.

Meetings of the ASDRC are regularly held on the third Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m. in Council Chambers on the second floor of Town Hall and via Zoom, according to the notice. Meetings last about two hours.
The town said the positions are volunteer and unpaid, and applicants must be Glastonbury residents. Residents interested in being considered are asked to email a letter of interest and resume to Annalies Goodwin, Administrative Assistant II in the Town Manager's Office, at annalies.goodwin@glastonbury-ct.gov.

Applications are due no later than Sunday, May 31, according to the notice. Additional information about the committee's design guidelines is available through the town's online document portal linked in the posting. The recruitment notice was posted under the heading, "Town Seeking Members for Architectural and Site Design Review Committee."
