Glastonbury COVID-19 Figures as of 5/10/2020

As per CT Department of Public Health (DPH) lab testing data available 5/10/20, Glastonbury has 714 residents who have been tested for COVID-19. Of those 714 residents, 217 are laboratory-confirmed or presumed positive cases of COVID-19. There have been 58 COVID-19-associated deaths to date, 44 of which were residents over the age of 80. Data from DPH is considered preliminary, and data changes as new reports are received and data errors are corrected. In an ongoing process of data assessment, DPH has modified how certain disease-positive lab results are considered, slightly changing some previous counts. As depicted below, the greatest number of positive cases is seen in age groups 80 years and older. Testing is highest among working age groups between 30 and 69 years of age. A total of 132 females and 85 males have tested positive. Please click here to see real-time updates from the State of Connecticut pertaining to COVID-19 data.

Reopen Connecticut Plans in Progress for State overall and Glastonbury Community

On May 9th, Governor Lamont’s administration announced the details of the first phase of reopening the state. A document outlining safety protocols for businesses who may elect to reopen as early as May 20th, (restaurants, offices, hair salons, etc.) is now available here on the state of Connecticut website. In response to the onset of this phased approach, Town of Glastonbury staff have begun discussions to define a short and long term reopening strategy for town operations. All town operating protocols will be under review and updates will be published to the town website as soon as they are available.
