Glastonbury Voters Approve More Funding For Open Space Acquisitions
The yes votes prevailed on a ballot question.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Glastonbury will be getting another $3 million for open space acquisitions through borrowing.
A resounding number of yes votes on a ballot question Tuesday took care of that. The question was posed to residents as part of the state elections.
It read:

- "SHALL THE TOWN OF GLASTONBURY APPROPRIATE $3,000,000 FOR THE PURCHASE OF DEVELOPMENT RIGHTS AND ACQUISITION OF LAND PURSUANT TO THE ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE TOWN’S RESERVE FOR LAND ACQUISITION AND AUTHORIZE THE ISSUE OF BONDS AND NOTES IN THE SAME AMOUNT TO FINANCE SAID APPROPRIATION?"
On Wednesday morning, on a count that local election officials termed 99.5 percent complete, the yes votes were 10,295 and the no votes were 5,736.
Municipal officials must now formulate and approve a bond ordinance. The money will go into the town's open space acquisition account.
