Glastonbury Woman Charged After 5-Year-Old Found Home Alone

A Glastonbury woman has been charged in home alone case, police said.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A Glastonbury woman is facing a risk of injury to a child charge after her 5-year-old was found home alone, an arrest report indicates.

Investigators said in a report that children at the Deming Street home have been "frequently" left home alone.

Police were dispatched to the home at 4:38 p.m. on April 19 to check on the welfare of a 5-year-old who was in the dwelling by himself, according to an arrest report. As officers were at the scene, the mother of the child, identified in an arrest report as 27-year-old Michelle Montgomery, arrived home, police said.

She was arrested and the children were sent to relatives for temporary custody, according to an arrest report. Police said the state Department of Children and Familes was notified.

Montgomery posted a $10,000 bond and was assigned a court date of May 2, according to an arrest report.
