Glastonbury Woman Wins Silver In Paralympic Event

Karen Petrik won a silver medal in rowing.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A Glastonbury woman won a silver medal in Paralympic rowing Sunday in Tokyo, The Hartford Courant reported. Karen Petrik, 23, and her four teammates came in second in the PR3 mixed four with coxswain category.

Defending champion Great Britain won gold and the French won bronze in the event. It was the United States' seventh straight silver medal.

Petrik was a coxswain for the University of Rhode Island team and graduated in 2019. She was also a coxswain for Glastonbury High's crew team, according to The Hartford Courant.
