Glastonbury Wrong-Way Roundabout Incident Leads To Driver's Arrest

GLASTONBURY, CT — A 30-year-old man from Springfield, MA, is facing a pair of charges after driving the wrong way through a roundabout in Glastonbury, police said.

Police released details of the Sept. 24 incident this week.

At 1:21 that morning, an officer on patrol saw a car head through a roundabout against the normal flow of traffic. The vehicle was then intercepted along the 100 block of New London Turnpike, according to an arrest report.

The driver was charged with driving under the influence and driving the wring way through a rotary. He is scheduled to appear in Manchester Superior Court on Oct. 20.

The New London Turnpike roundabout is one of two in Glastonbury. It is near the Hebron Avenue interchange.
