Glastonbury Youth Fishing Derby Held This Saturday
The derby at J.B. Williams Park will mark the opening day of the 2013 fishing season.

This Saturday marks the opening day of fishing season in Connecticut, and local youths are invited to celebrate with a little friendly competition at J.B. Williams Park.
Glastonbury is hosting a youth fishing derby on Saturday, April 20 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at J.B. Williams Park, 789 Neipsic Road. Children 4 to 15 years old can sign up to compete in the derby.
There will be four age categories: 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15. There are no bait restrictions, and no physical parental assistance is allowed except for baiting and casting.
The children will compete for the biggest, smallest, first and most trout caught. Prizes will also be raffled off every 15 minutes.
The event is free and pre-registration is not required.
