Glastonbury's Cabral In The Medal Hunt After Olympic Steeplechase Heats
The qualifiers were Monday morning — BREAKING.

GLASTONBURY, CT — Glastonbury High School graduate Donn Cabral finished third in his 3,000-meter Olympic steeplechase heat on Monday morning in Rio.
The time of 8:21.96 qualified Cabral for Wednesday morning's final as the third fastest. The race is scheduled for 10:50 a.m.
The top qualifier in the final was Conseslus Kipruto of Kenya with a time of 8:21.40.

Second overall was Jacob Araptany, Uganda with a time of 8:21.53.
Cabral graduated from Glastonbury High in 2008.

Cabral placed third in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase at the U.S. Trials in Oregon with a time of 8:26.37.
Cabral now runs for Nike and is in his second straight Olympics.
There are 24 runners in the steeplechase final.
