Goddard School Plans Weeklong Earth Day Celebration

The Glastonbury school will participate in the 5th annual Root for Earth campaign.

Preschoolers at The Goddard School in Glastonbury, along with over 420 other Goddard Schools nationwide, will celebrate the 5th Annual Root for Earth campaign next week.

During Root for Earth week — April 20 through April 24, children will participate in hands-on activities which include building community gardens, putting on recycled runway fashion shows where children will create clothing from recycled materials such as newspapers, paper bags, magazines, and other upcycling projects. These projects foster creativity and imagination while learning through play.

The Glastonbury school will join all 400 Goddard Schools across the country by turning off all non-essential lighting for one hour at 10 a.m. on Earth Day April 22, as part of the Lights Out! portion of Root for Earth.
