Hartford Cops: Gun Stolen From Glastonbury Found on Man who was Unconscious at Hospital

The incident was on Sunday, police said.

HARTFORD, CT — An man has been arrested for a firearm stolen from Glastonbury, Hartford police said.

On Sunday at 9:34 p.m., Hartford Police Department patrol officers responded to St. Francis Hospital on a report of firearm recovered from a unconscious patient, according to an arrest report.

An AMR Ambulance unit responded to 68 Capen Street on a report of an unresponsive male, and transported the male to St. Francis Hospital, according to an arrest report.

Upon intake, security staffers located a firearm tucked into the patient's sock, according to an arrest report.

Security staffers recovered a Smith and Wesson .22 caliber revolver from the patient and observed that it had six live rounds, and two spent casings in the cylinder, according to an arrest report. The patient was also in possession of marijuana and cocaine, police said.

Further investigation revealed the firearm was reported stolen out of Glastonbury, according to an arrest report.

The patient, Demar Pipkin, 25, of East Hartford was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, theft of a firearm, possession of marijuana, possession of narcotics, and possession of narcotics within a school zone, police said.
