Brian Carvalho
Brian Carvalho also started playing Hartwell soccer in 1st grade and helped coach a travel team for 3 years and continues to be a referee in our program. His academic career is equally impressive as his soccer career at GHS where he has won an unpresented and unthinkable 3 consecutive state championships. He has been able to achieve High Honor Roll every year and be named an All‐Academic on the GHS Varsity Boys soccer team all four years. His high school coach, Mark Landers, noted: “With his resolute attitude, he has worked to balance the demands of his academics, athletics and employment. As a result of competing demands, Brian has learned to be adaptable and pragmatic, especially when time is tight. Throughout it all, his efforts never waned and he remains on the top of his class”. As the first generation born in this country Brian has witnessed the hard work it take to achieve goals. He plans to go on and study medicine and help bring better health care to immigrant communities.
