HMF Announces Marathon Brewing Company as Annual Beer Partner

New 26.2 Brew from Marathon Brewing Company was designed with runners in mind

The non-profit Hartford Marathon Foundation (HMF), producers of 30+ race events throughout southern New England and based in Glastonbury, will offer 26.2 Brew from Marathon Brewing Company at select races through the 2020 season. Presenting the “Mile 27 Beer Garden” at the Eversource Hartford Marathon and Half Marathon in October 2019, 26.2 Brew will also be served on race day at HMF events including the new RiMaConn Relay, Run for Claus 5K in New London as well as in a variety of local restaurants and retail partners leading up to and on race days. Additionally, the company will present the Marathon Brewing Challenge Series to highlight race series experiences offered by HMF to inspire participants to reach new race goals and be rewarded for their efforts.

Designed to cater to what drinkers and athletes want in a beer, the golden, hazy ale is brewed with Himalayan sea salt and coriander. The unique 26.2 Brew has a crisp body and refreshing finish with 4.0% ABV, 9g carbs and only 120 calories.

“We know that runners work hard to reach the finish line and we are always looking for new ways to celebrate their accomplishments,” said Beth Shluger, Hartford Marathon Foundation CEO and founder. “Nothing beats an ice cold beer after a run and we’re excited to bring 26.2 Brew to our participants across southern New England to experience a refreshing and satisfying beer developed specifically to reward them.”

Hartford Marathon Foundation is delivering the 26.2 Brew experience to race participants following last month’s national roll-out of a beer previously only available to Boston Marathon runners and spectators. The new 26.2 Brew evolved from the original Boston 26.2 Brew, available for the past seven years in and around Boston during the marathon.
