do, or if you have a project you would like to create, stop by or call the Reference Desk at 860-652-7720 to set up an appointment. If you are new to 3D printing, we ask that you schedule your appointment when a volunteer is available to assist you. At the present time, the MakerBot is available for Glastonbury residents only. There is a fee of $1.00 per hour or part of an hour, with a maximum of 2 hours per day. The library’s complete 3D printer use policy is available online and at the Reference Desk.

We’ve added several completed projects in the Erley Display Case near the Main Street entrance to show some of what it can do and how long each project took to print. For more 3D project ideas and inspiration, check out a library book or two, or visit any number of 3D printing websites.

Holiday Donations

We’re changing up our holiday donations this year: Instead of socks, hats, mitten and gloves, Social Services has asked for donations of new children’s books. We will collect these new books between Thanksgiving and December 11 and deliver them to Social Services on December 12. Purchase a children’s picture book, easy reader or chapter book and bring it to the library’s Lending Desk. You will receive an “ornament” on which to write the title of your donation and then hang it on the tree. Let’s fill the tree with lots of “ornaments!” We thank you in advance for helping to make this a happy holiday for many children in our community.
