Local Entrepreneur fulfills Central Connecticut’s Need for Certified Bookkeeping Services with Opening of Hartford County’s first BookKeeping Express Office
Glastonbury, Conn. - BookKeeping Express, the first U.S. franchise focused solely on bookkeeping services, recently opened its first office in central Connecticut, serving businesses throughout Glastonbury, Manchester and Wethersfield. BookKeeping Express offers a much-needed service to businesses, so they can get back to doing what they do best.
“We help business owners achieve three key objectives: increase their profits, optimize cash flow and be ready for tax season,” said Shannon Goode, co-owner of the BookKeeping Express in Glastonbury. “I am excited about serving the growing local small business community and the opportunity to help fellow entrepreneurs prosper and grow.”
The BookKeeping Express of Glastonbury will provide outsourcing of accounting services at an affordable flat monthly rate that is tailored to each client’s needs, instead of an unpredictable hourly billing approach. Services include monthly data entry, general ledger, account reconciliation, accounts payable/accounts receivable, monthly financial reports, payroll, consulting services and benchmarking performance against industry standards.

“So many otherwise sound businesses fail to account for their financial dealings properly, which can hinder their revenues and profitability. They want to move forward, but without knowing how to best utilize their financial data, they often feel frustrated and overwhelmed. That’s where we come in,” said Goode. “We can offer the small business owner access to an entire accounting department for only those few hours per month when they actually need it. Without the proper procedures in place, we see too many business owners negatively impacted by falling behind on financial records.”
From a technology standpoint, the local BookKeeping Express has the tools and applications necessary to provide financial information to local business owners in real time, but they also understand how important it is to give clients the face time and accessibility they want and deserve.

Shannon, a CPA with more than 20 years of experience in accounting outsourcing, will operate the business alongside his wife Karen Goode, co-owner and CPA of more than 15 years. Shannon’s diverse background in operating multi-million dollar revenues at a variety of companies – from Fortune 500 to smaller investment management firms – and Karen’s marketing and accounting portfolio make them a natural fit for owning a BookKeeping Express.
“As small business owners ourselves, we understand our clients’ common pain points and can speak to them in their own language,” said Shannon. “At the end of the day, we’re in the business of helping others grow their businesses, and through innovative technology and excellent customer service, we know that we can achieve this goal.”
