A Look at Glastonbury's Winter Sports Team Title History

GLASTONBURY, CT — As practices for high school winter sports officially get underway Monday (girls basketball and wrestling) and next Saturday (boys basketball, ice hockey, indoor track, boys swimming and girls gymnastics), hopes run high for all teams to achieve the ultimate goal: winning a state championship.

To help squads get into the championship mentality, here is a listing of the 18 CIAC winter team titles won by Glastonbury High School in past years (* - indicates a co-op team).

• girls indoor track (7) - Class LL: 2015, 2012, 2011, 2008, 2007, 2006; State Open: 2011
• girls gymnastics (7) - Class L: 2012, 2011, 1995, 1994, 1989, 1988; State Open: 2011
• ice hockey (2) - Div. II: 2003, 1999
• wrestling (1) - Class L: 1978
• boys swimming (1) - Class L: 1975
