Looking for a Job? 11th Annual College 2 Career Expo Set for Wednesday

Just across the Glastonbury border, there will be more than 50 companies conducting interviews at Rentschler Field.

If you’re a college student preparing to enter the working world, you’ll want to be sure to stop by Rentschler Field in East Hartford on Wednesday, Oct. 22 for the 11th Annual College 2 Career Expo.

Representatives from more than 50 companies will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the facility’s ballroom, ready to talk with attendees about possible career opportunities.

Sponsored by the Springfield Economic Partnership, Enterprise Holdings, The Connecticut Department of Labor and local colleges and universities in Connecticut and Western Massachusetts, the event will feature Certified Professional Résumé Writers from the Connecticut Department of Labor who will review and critique student’s résumés to help ensure that they effectively showcase the appropriate skills and accomplishments. Labor Department employees will also conduct LinkedIn profile critiques which includes reviewing language to sharpen content, suggesting formatting changes to improve layout, creating strong headlines, and discussing photo options for LinkedIn pages.

Companies taking part in the College 2 Career Expo include Frontier Communications, Prudential Financial, the State Department of Revenue Services, MTU Aero Engines North America, Source4teachers, AFLAC, TTM Technologies, FedEx Ground and the New Haven Police Department.
