Main Street Sidewalk Project Reaches Substantial Completion In Glastonbury

GLASTONBURY, CT — The town of Glastonbury has reached substantial completion on the Main Street Sidewalk Phase 3C project, with the newly constructed sidewalks opening to the public on July 16.

Town officials said the project is largely complete, although several final items remain before the work is officially accepted.

The town has issued contractor B&W Paving & Landscaping a punch list of remaining work, including painting sidewalk markings at the intersection of Main Street (Route 17) and Chestnut Hill Road/Red Hill Drive, clearing construction materials and restoring the laydown area at Earle Park and the American Legion Hall, removing small areas of invasive bamboo shoots that have re-emerged, and reseeding areas where grass did not become established during the upcoming fall growing season.

In addition, final acceptance of the intersection improvements and roadway repaving by the Connecticut Department of Transportation remains pending.
