Man Charged With Embezzling from Glastonbury Financial Services Firm

He was arrested on a warrant, police said.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A man is facing a third-degree computer crime charge to go along with a fourth-degree larceny charge while being accused of falsifying records at his place of employment, police said.

Matthew Maudsley, 33, of Regan Road, Vernon was arrested on a warrant last Wednesday, police said. He is due in court on Nov. 23, according to police records.

Maudsley was an insurance agent for a financial services company and he allegedly collected cash payments from customers but never transmitted those payments to the company, according to a warrant.

He is accused of embezzling more than $1,300 in payments and making false entries in the company's computer records to cover it up, police said.
