Meet Hartwell Soccer Newest Director of Coaching

Hartwell brings on Joe Finocchiaro as Director of Coaching for the club.

Joe Finocchiaro – Director of Coaching
Coach Finocchiaro has a United Soccer Federation “A” coaching license. He played Division I
soccer for University of North Carolina at Wilmington. After college, Joe played professionally in the United Soccer League for the North Carolina, Wilmington Hammerheads.
Coach Finocchiaro is now the Head coach for the girls Varsity team at Glastonbury high school. Underhis leadership his teams have had 55 CCC all-conference players named,
11 all New England players, 4 all Americas, 3 Connecticut writers female athlete of the year, 4 Hartford Courant players of the year, and 2 Hartford Courant female athlete of the year. Max/Preps and the National Guard has recognized GHS for having one of the top ten girls’ soccer
program in the country. Joe was named NSCAA ALL-Region Coach of the Year, USA Today National Coach of the Year, and was inducted into the National High School Coaches Hall of fame. Recently the Glastonbury Varsity team broke the Connecticut State girls’ soccer unbeaten record
of 49 and set a new Connecticut state record of 63 straight wins and set the unbeaten record of 69 games. Glastonbury has captured nine straight CCC titles while only losing one game in regular season play. Since the inception of the CCC tournament in 2013-2015. The team has won two
conference championships and four Class LL state titles since 2011 and the first in the program's history, which also includes three straight. In the CIAC class LL rankings Glastonbury has been ranked number one going into the tournament 8 out of the last 9 years. Glastonbury has
reached the semifinals of the CIAC tournament 7 times in a row. His team was also ranked #1 in the country by the USA Today 2017 poll. GHS has finished twice in the top 10 of the NSCCAA final rankings including number 5 and 7. His record at GHS is 193 wins 9 ties and 10 losses.


Coach Finocchiaro looks forward to bringing his experiencing in
developing players to Glastonbury Hartwell Soccer Club along with
helping to educate the trainers and volunteer coaches in the program.
Joe will assist in the growth and advancement of out soccer program and
we are all very excited to Coach Finocchiaro on board
