Opening Day Set For Glastonbury Trader Joe's — The 9th In Connecticut

GLASTONBURY, CT — Trader Joe's is set to open in Glastonbury early next month. The location represents the chain's ninth store in Connecticut.

Opening day for the 400 Hebron Ave. store is Feb. 2, according to the Trader Joe's website. The location was initially announced in November. The store is creating more than 80 jobs and those interested in applying can go to the store website employment tab, company officials said. Planned hours are 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

In July, the application was approved to grant a special permit with a design review to construct a delivery area on the west side of the existing building for a grocery outlet and an expansion of the parking area utilizing 366 Hebron Ave. and 7 Linden St. The parcel sits in a Town Center Zone, a Residence A Zone and a Town Center Village District Overlay Zone. It had been deemed suitable for food establishments for some time.
