Paul B. Kleine, 88; World War II Navy Veteran; Long-Time Glastonbury Resident

Calling hours will be held on Friday, May 8 with the funeral scheduled for Saturday, May 9.

Paul B. Kleine, 88, of Glastonbury, husband of the late Eva Kleine, died Tuesday May 5, 2015 at Riverside Health Care Center.

Born June 14, 1926 in Hartford, son of the late Joseph and Micalina (Juzczynska) Kleine, he had lived in Glastonbury since 1974.

He retired in 1993 from J.T. Slocomb to take care of his wife during her illness. Paul was a 24-year member of the VFW Coventry-Mansfield Post #52 and the American Legion. He also was a member of St. Paul Men’s Club, and a former member of the Glastonbury Elks.

Paul had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He is survived by 2 sons and their wives, Paul and Maureen Kleine of Glastonbury, Peter E. and Lisa Kleine of Portland, OR, 3 grandchildren Sydney, Savanna and Alexa Kleine. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Rita Costa of Fairhaven, MA and a niece Carol Kleina of Coventry.

He was predeceased by his brother Leo Kleine.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 9 at 10am in St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, East Hartford. Friends may call at the Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Ave., Glastonbury on Friday May 8 from 4-6pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Coventry-Mansfield VFW Post 52, P.O. Box 51, Coventry, CT. 06238.
