Robber Armed With Flare Gun Holds Up Glastonbury Bank: Police

A man brandishing what police believe to be a flare gun held up a Glastonbury bank on Friday.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A man brandishing what police believe to be a flare gun held up a Glastonbury bank on Friday.

At 11:17 a.m. Friday, Glastonbury police were dispatched to the United Bank branch at 2670 Main Street on a report of a bank robbery in progress.

The suspect had fled from the bank parking lot on foot and a Manchester police canine unit was called in to track the suspect, but the suspect was not located, police said.

Surveillance images of the suspect were released and are attached.

The bandit entered the bank, approached the teller and displayed an "orange colored firearm," possibly a flare gun.
