Route 2 Road Project Set To Begin In Glastonbury
Road work on a well-traveled section of Route 2 will likely disrupt traffic in Glastonbury after April 1.

GLASTONBURY, CT — The Connecticut Department of Transportation Thursday said that a paving project is scheduled to start on a busy stretch of Route 2 in Glastonbury and Marlborough on April 1.
It's officially on file as Project 0053-0201.
The work is slated for an approximately 8-mile section of Route 2 from mile marker 6.27 to 14.63 in Marlborough and Glastonbury, DOT officials said. The scope of work consists of milling and paving Route 2 and the corresponding entrance and exit ramps.

The work was awarded to Tilcon Connecticut Inc. for $15.3 million on Feb. 22.
Completion is targeted for Nov. 1, DOT officials said.

The project will require right or left lane closures on Route 2 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as well as from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. on both the eastbound and westbound sides of Route 2. Construction signs will be installed to guide motorists through the work zone.
