South Glastonbury Man Leads Cops on High-Speed Chase in Front of Milford Police Headquarters: PD
Police say the accused took off at a high rate of speed and officers stopped their pursuit due to safety concerns.

MILFORD, CT — This wasn't a smart move, allegedly speaking of course. Milford police say a South Glastonbury man, 20, decided to ride a dirt bike erratically in front of Police Headquarters and when police observed it, the accused took off at a high rate of speed.
Police officers stopped pursuit out of safety concerns for other motorists but they were able to make an arrest quickly, a news release states.
On April 17 officers witnessed a dirt bike style motorcycle being driven erratically on the Boston Post Road in front of police headquarters, police said. Officers tried to stop the dirt bike but it took off at a high rate of speed westbound on Route 1, police said.

Officers stopped chasing the dirt bike due to safety concerns but a witness provided police with information that the dirt bike had been off-loaded from a pick-up truck in the parking lot of 408 Boston Post Road, which is next door to police headquarters, police said. This information led to the arrest of Jonathan Allen, 20, of Main Street in South Glastonbury, who is accused of riding the dirt bike and engaging police in pursuit.
He is charged with reckless operation, engaging police in pursuit, no motorcycle insurance, driving an unregistered motor vehicle, and driving without motorcycle insurance.
