GLASTONBURY – The town will be forming a few new connections this summer.
Municipal officials have decided t take the $250,000 set aside each fiscal year for sidewalks this to connect walkways along Addison Road, Buttonball Lane and Main Street in South Glastonbury, the Hartford Courant reported.
Town Manager Richard Johnson said the town will continue filling gaps in sidewalk connections along Addison Road, a popular route for students who walk to Smith Middle School. The current sidewalk ends at Norman Drive, forcing students to walk along a winding road with difficult sightlines for drivers. The plan would be to connect the ribbon of concrete from Norman Drive south to Hebron Avenue.
