Successful Clothing Drive at Glastonbury Thrift Shop Benefits Vulnerable Families and Children
The Second Chance Shop and its charity partner, J.Jill, collected over 250 items during a recent clothing drive held at J.Jill, Somerset Square.
The items will be sold at the Second Chance Shop, a thrift boutique that benefits The Village for Families & Children. The Village provides behavioral health, foster care and adoption, and community support services to more than 8,000 children and their families each year.
“We are grateful to the community and to J.Jill for their support of the clothing drive and, ultimately, The Village,” said JoAnn Adams, director of the Glastonbury Auxiliary of The Village, which runs the Second Chance Shop.
The Second Chance Shop is located at 730 Hebron Avenue. Summer hours are 10 am-4 pm on Wednesdays only from July 6-August 10. The Shop will be open for sales and receipt of donations of new and gently used items. Regular hours resume on August 16.
