Sunflowers for Wishes

Come enjoy Buttonwood Farm's beautiful sunflowers, hayrides and family fun to benefit Make-A-Wish Connecticut

The 12th Annual Sunflowers for Wishes to benefit Make-A-Wish® Connecticut will take place July 18th through July 26th at Buttonwood Farm in Griswold, Connecticut.
This marks the 12th Anniversary of what has become a statewide and New England summer event that cannot be missed. Although crowds travel from all over the state of Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and beyond to Buttonwood Farms, they all come for the same reason—to be surrounded by the beauty of thousands of sunflowers while supporting Make-A-Wish Connecticut, whose mission is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Over 450,000 sunflowers are expected to bloom on the fifteen acres of farmland. Flowers will be sold in bouquets for $10.00 each, with one hundred percent of the proceeds going directly to Make-A-Wish Connecticut. Hayrides through the fields will also be available for $5.00 per person which will also be donated to Make-A-Wish, as well as sunflower-themed t-shirts and notecards available for purchase.
And, of course, don’t forget to grab a scoop of Buttonwood Farms’ famous Sunflower-flavored ice cream, available only during Sunflowers for Wishes!
Sunflowers for Wishes has raised over $900,000 for Make-A-Wish Connecticut in the past 11 years, with last year alone raising over $100,000. This year, with your help, Sunflowers for Wishes has the potential to have raised over $1,000,000 in its event history, which has helped and will continue to help countless wishes come true.
“We are proud and honored to have Duane and the entire Button family as part of the Make-A-Wish family here in Connecticut,” says Michael Dominick, Community Relations Manager for Make-A-Wish Connecticut. “Thanks to people like the Buttons, countless wishes have been granted for 11 incredible years, and many more will continue to be granted in the future thanks to the monumental accomplishments of this year’s event.”
Sunflowers for Wishes is open to the public from 10AM until dusk, July 18th through July 26th.
If you are interested in volunteering to help cut and bouquet flowers from 6AM-10AM in the morning throughout the event, please contact Michael Dominick at 203.880.6964.
