Suspected Counterfeiter Nabbed After Littering, Handicapped Parking Violation in Glastonbury: Report

A man suspected of circulating fake money was arrested in Glastonbury.

GLASTONBURY, CT — The decision to park in a handicapped space led to police perhaps breaking up a counterfeit money ring, according to an arrest report.

Aaron Gray, 34, of Staten Island, NY, was arrested on June 29, according to an arrest report. Police noticed a suspicious activity around a car parked illegally in a handicapped space at Somerset Square that involved littering, according to an arrest report.

It turned out that an occupant of the car — Gray — is suspected of being involved with passing counterfeit currency in several town, including Glastonbury, according to an arrest report. He was charged with littering, illegally parking in a handicapped space and conspiracy to commit first-degree forgery, according to an arrest report.

He was held on a $30,000 bond and appeared in court the following day, police said. A judge upped the ante to $50,000 and on Monday, Gray remained in custody while awaiting his second appearance on Aug. 1, according to judicial system records.
