The Town of Glastonbury has contracted with Vision Government Solutions Inc. to perform the property revaluation for the 2022 Grand List. Vision will be working with the Assessor’s Office to make this 14-month project a successful one. State law requires towns to revalue every five years, and Glastonbury’s last revaluation was completed in 2017. A revaluation will determine the current fair market value of every property in town. It equalizes the values of all properties for the purpose of a fair distribution of the tax burden.

The major phases of a municipal revaluation are: Data & Photo Collection, Market Analysis, Valuation, Field Review, and Informal Hearings. During the month of January 2022, data collectors will begin the Data Collection phase. As part of this phase, Vision personnel will be driving through town to review all properties, capture photos, and update property characteristics. This activity is expected to begin when the leaves have fallen in the coming weeks. For identification purposes, Vision vehicles will be registered with the Town, and will have “Assessor’s Office” signs posted in their windows. The Valuation phase will follow in the spring of 2022 and will continue through November. Additional updates will be posted to the Town website as applicable.

If you have questions about the revaluation process, please visit www.glastonburyct.gov/reval, or contact the Assessor’s Office at (860) 652-7600. Additional information, as well as answers to frequently asked questions, can also be found on the Vision Government Solutions website at https://www.vgsi.com/taxpayer-revaluation-information/.
