GLASTONBURY, CT — A vehicle knocked a utility pole onto a section of Hebron Avenue in Glastonbury Friday morning, forcing authorities to close the busy thoroughfare, local police and state officials said.

Hebron Avenue is also state Route 94.

Connecticut Department of Transportation officials said the crash took place on Hebron Avenue between Jasmine Lane and Weir Street at 3:38 a.m. and the road was still closed during the morning commute.

At 8 a.m., local police said a utility crew was responding the scene. Work was still going on into the nighttime hours, according to the DOT.
