Viewing Party Scheduled to See Glastonbury Native Run for Olympic Gold
Donn Cabral is in the Olympic steeplechase final.

GLASTONBURY, CT — A viewing party has been scheduled for Wednesday to see Glastonbury High School graduate Donn Cabral run in the final of the Olympic 3,000-meter steeplechase.
Here are the details:
- When: Wednesday, Aug. 17, at 10:50 a.m.
- Where: Glastonbury High School Auditorium
- Suggested Attire: Red, White and Blue and anything U.S.A. inspired.
Cabral finished third in his 3,000-meter Olympic steeplechase heat on Monday morning in Rio.

The time of 8:21.96 qualified Cabral for Wednesday morning's final as the third fastest.
The top qualifier in the final was Conseslus Kipruto of Kenya with a time of 8:21.40.

Second overall was Jacob Araptany, Uganda with a time of 8:21.53.
Cabral graduated from Glastonbury High in 2008. Cabral placed third in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase at the U.S. Trials in Oregon with a time of 8:26.37.
Cabral now runs for Nike and is in his second straight Olympics.
There are 24 runners in the steeplechase final.
