Water Level Still Delaying Glastonbury-Rocky Hill Ferry Season
An angry Connecticut River is keeping the ferry at the dock.
GLASTONBURY, CT — A high water level on the Connecticut River is keeping the historic Rocky Hill-Glastonbury Ferry at the dock heading into the long weekend, state officials said.
It's still a week-to-week thing in terms of when it can begin running for the season, officials said.
The traditional opening day is April 1.

When running, pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles are welcome on the ferry.
The Rocky Hill-Glastonbury Ferry is the oldest continuously operating ferry in America. It began its service in 1655.

The ferry operates on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6:45 p.m. and on weekends from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., when open. Weather conditions, water levels, or mechanical issues may impact ferry operations – closures and delays are shared online.
