Works of Glastonbury Couple Featured at Duncaster in October

The paintings of husband and wife, Tom and Margah Lips will be displayed at the Duncaster Art Gallery during the month of October

The paintings of husband and wife, Tom and Margah Lips of S. Glastonbury will be displayed at the Duncaster Art Gallery during the month of October. There will be an opening reception October 1. “Art from New England to Mexico” will be displayed until Friday, Nov. 3. The exhibit is open to the public on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and admission is free.

Fellow artists, Tom and Margah Lips reside in South Glastonbury where they are surrounded with their primary focus for their art. Having a love for water color on paper, Margah is trained in charcoal drawing and is interested in the relationship between positive and negative space. Tom, a childhood painter, has now rekindled a long-dormant interest in oil on canvas.

In earlier years, Tom focused on New England seascapes, and exhibited widely with a number of juried recognitions. An interest in the effect of ink embellishments on water color subjects, informs some of Margah’s more recent works, yet the flora of Mexico and New England are a frequent focus of her creations.
