2 Granby Grapplers Place In State Open
The State Open wrestling championships were contested Friday and Saturday at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven.

NEW HAVEN, CT — A pair of wrestlers from Granby Memorial High School turned in top six performances at the CIAC State Open wrestling championships, which concluded Saturday at the Floyd Little Athletic Center.
Bear placewinners were:
- 2nd - Cooper Fleming, 152 lbs.
- 4th - Benjamin Kibby, 182 lbs.
For the second straight year, Danbury won the team competition with 149.5 points. Bristol Eastern, Killingly and Fairfield Warde tied for second, each with 95 points.

Weight class champions were:
- 106 - Travis Longo, Wilton
- 113 - Jarod Kosman, Fitch
- 120 - Ryan Jack, Danbury
- 126 - Melquisedec Ortiz, New Milford
- 132 - Noah Caskey, Montville
- 138 - Ryan Angers, Tolland
- 145 - AJ Kovacs, Danbury
- 152 - Ryan Luth, Foran
- 160 - Izaake Zuckerman, Fairfield Warde
- 170 - Ryan Devivo, Xavier
- 182 - Ben Stratton, Platt
- 195 - Joe Gjinaj, Fairfield Warde
- 220 - Dakota Grover, Fitch
- 285 - Michael Burchell, Daniel Hand
