Son Charged With Stabbing Parents in Granby [UPDATED]

Two people were hospitalized with knife wounds following an early-morning incident Monday.

GRANBY, CT — A 40-year-old man was charged Monday morning with attempting to kill his parents inside their Laurel Drive home.

Christopher Rich is charged with two counts each of attempted murder and first-degree assault. He is being held in lieu of $500,000 bond, and is scheduled to appear in Enfield Superior Court Tuesday.

Rich is the son of the two victims, who are both reported to be in stable condition at St. Francis. No other suspects are being sought, and there is no danger to the public, Capt. William Tyler said.

The State Police Central District Major Crime Squad is assisting Granby police with scene processing, Tyler said.

GRANBY, CT — Two people were hospitalized with stab wounds and a man believed to be their son was arrested in connection with a domestic assault on Laurel Lane early Monday morning.

Capt. William Tyler said police responded to an assault report at 3:06 a.m. Both victims were located conscious inside the home with knife wounds and transported to St. Francis Hospital.

An adult male suspect was taken into custody without incident outside the residence. He has not yet been identified, but is believed to be the son of the victims, Tyler said.

Charges against the man have not yet been disclosed, Tyler said.
