Accomplishments By College Students From Granby, East Granby: 2023

GRANBY-EAST GRANBY, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire. More great feats will be noted in the coming weeks.

Bryant University, Smithfield RI

• Spencer Bennett and Rachel Hennessy, both of Granby, and Sarah Lostowski of East Granby were named to the spring 2023 President's List. The President's List is an academic distinction reserved for Bryant's highest achievers who earn a GPA of 4.0 for at least 12 semester hours of work.
• Bryant University is pleased to recognize the students who have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to academic excellence and achievement and have been named to the spring 2023 Dean's List. To earn a place on the Dean's List students must have a GPA of 3.4 or better for at least 12 semester hours of work. Congratulations to local honorees Spencer Bennett, Rachel Hennessy, Timothy Jennings, Alexis Klein, Colby Milbrandt, William Sullivan and Jacob Wimble, all of Granby, and Aidan Gallagher, Sarah Lostowski and Jordan Walsh, all of East Granby.

Hamilton College, Clinton NY

• Alana King of Granby and Zachary Orluk and Quincy Williams, both of West Granby, were named to the Dean's List at Hamilton College for the spring 2023 semester. King, a rising senior majoring in Chinese and psychology, is a graduate of Granby Memorial High School. Orluk, a rising junior majoring in biology, is a graduate of Granby Memorial High School. Williams, a May graduate, majored in history at Hamilton. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must have carried a course load of four or more graded credits throughout the semester and earned an average GPA of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale.

Hartwick College, Oneonta NY

• During Hartwick College's Athletics Award Ceremony held in late spring, Jessica Gerace of Granby received the Philip S. Wilder Jr. Award for Academic Distinction. Gerace, who is majoring in nursing, was among a group of student-athletes and/or managers of teams recognized for attaining a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

University of Vermont, Burlington VT

• Brian Boyle of Granby graduated Cum Laude from the University of Vermont with a bachelor's degree in biochemistry. James Kuhnly of Granby graduated with a bachelor's degree in business administration.

Western New England University, Springfield MA

• Western New England University recently named over 570 students to the spring semester 2023 Dean's List, including two local honorees. Jonathan Pedraza of East Granby is majoring in general business, and Cameron Gravlin of Granby is majoring in computer engineering.
