Granby Voters Set To Decide Town Budget

If the budget fails, Granby officials say the process will repeat until voters approve a spending plan.

GRANBY, CT — Granby’s proposed town budget is heading to voters.

The town said the annual machine vote on the FY2026-27 budget is scheduled for Monday, April 20, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Granby Town Hall Meeting Room. Town officials said the budget must receive a majority of “yes” votes to take effect. If it fails, the process repeats until a budget wins approval.

Granby also is directing residents to a budget reports page on the town website, where the Board of Selectmen’s recommended FY2026-27 budget book and departmental PowerPoint presentations are posted. Those presentations were prepared for the Board of Selectmen’s budget workshops held March 5, March 9 and March 12.

Residents looking to follow the process can also use the town website to view Board of Selectmen meeting agendas and access Zoom information for budget meetings. The town said absentee ballot information is available through the town clerk’s election information page.

The budget vote follows earlier steps in the process, including a Board of Finance public hearing held April 6 at Granby Memorial High School. Town officials have encouraged residents to take part throughout the budget process.
